Rob Hames is the Fine Art Technician for Painting.
Rob previously taught on, and ran fine art courses at a number of other colleges in the South West. Since graduating in 1999 from a Fine Art painting degree in Sussex, Rob has worked continuously on his own projects, and has exhibited his paintings and drawings on a regular basis.
His main practice of painting centres upon landscape, defunct machinery, and in particular the deserted settlements on the Salisbury Plain Training Area; their status, and conservation issues raised by the military usage. His current body of work investigates the issue of shelter, and is predominantly large-scale graphite pieces completed en plein air.
